GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey's Eddie Kielkopf has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today. The award is the first for the sophomore from St. Paul, Minn.

In the regular-season finale -- a 14-6 win over Emmanuel -- Kielkopf made 13 saves to improve to 3-1 on the season. He also grabbed a ground ball.

Belmont Abbey, the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament, takes on No. 3 Mount Olive in Friday's second semifinal. Start time is set for 1:45 p.m.
