Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. -
Aaron Madison consistently took five shots, though the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team tied King 0-0 this afternoon. The Abbey now stands at 2-6-1 overall and 2-1-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while King moves to 1-3-1, with a 1-2-1 conference record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Madison came out attacking early, taking a shot just 2:15 into the contest, and another in the 12th minute
- The first half, however, was mainly a defensive battle, with neither team taking more than five shots. The Crusader defense held King to four shots in the half, and just one on goal
- In the second, it was again Madison getting off the first Abbey shot. Unfortunately for the Crusaders, it was their only shot of the half
- The defense, however, limited King's opportunities, and forced overtime
- It only took Madison 2:11 into the overtime period to fire the first shot of the period. The defense did not give up a shot in the OT period, which forced 2OT. Each team took one shot in the 2OT period, but was unable to score, and the match ended in a 0-0 tie
- Madison's five shots were a game-high
