GREENWOOD, S.C. — Jackson Bennett recorded his second straight clean sheet as Belmont Abbey finished in a scoreless draw with Lander Wednesday evening at Van Taylor Stadium.
Bennett made four saves in goal, matching his total from Saturday's contest against Newberry. It is the second straight shutout that the Crusaders have recorded in the early part of the season.
Following Wednesday's contest, Belmont Abbey is 1-0-2 for the season while Lander is 0-1-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey had two shots in the first half of the contest.
- The Crusaders had seven shots in the match with three from Luca Pereira. Pereira also had two shots on goal for the Abbey.
- Bennett made two saves in each half.
- Belmont Abbey's defense held the Bearcats without a shot in the final 24 minutes of the match.
- Six of the Crusaders' eight shots in the match came after halftime.
- The Crusaders had six corner kicks, including a pair in the final two minutes.
