The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team closed its season-opening, two match Florida schedule with a 2-0 loss to Lynn University in match that was played on the campus of Rollins College. Lynn moves to 2-0, while the Abbey falls to 0-2.

Lynn outshot the Abbey 17-4 as Jackie Hellett scored both of the Lynn goals. Her first came at the 32:38 mark when she and Lina Forsman combined on a give and go, and Hellett capped the play with a low roller past Hannah Kohls.

Hellett struck again in the 52nd minute to close the scoring. Kirstie Schults looped a corner kick to the center of the box, where Hellett met it with her head and redirected it into the net to push the lead to 2-0.

The Crusaders are back in action Saturday when they open the Conference Carolinas schedule with a match at Pfeiffer. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
