BRISTOL, Tenn. — Sabrina Cunha earned a brace while
Haley Long tallied her second goal of the season as the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team rallied for a 3-1 win over King Wednesday afternoon at Parks Field.
The Crusaders won their second straight Conference Carolinas match and its first Northwest Division contest of the season.
Belmont Abbey improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference while King is 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders were on the front foot early taking the first two shots of the match.
- King scored the opening goal of the match in the 13th minute.
- Belmont Abbey converted the equalizer just over a minute later thanks to the second goal of the season from Haley Long. Hannah Willis was credited with the assist on the play.
- The Abbey took the lead late in the first half as Sabrina Cunha converted a penalty kick to take a 2-1 lead. The kick was set up after McKenna Schwarz was fouled inside the box.
- Cunha added her second goal of the match in the early moments of the second half via a Francesca Highton assist. She led the Crusaders with five shots, four on target.
- Belmont Abbey finished with 19 shots, 12 on target, for the match.
- Gianna Carneglia earned the win making four saves in the contest.
- The Crusaders had six corner kicks compared to two for King.

- The Crusaders return home to face North Greenville at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Field.
- The contest will mark the first of four home games over the next five contests for the Abbey.
