BELMONT, N.C. -- Five different Crusaders found the net -- including two for their first time in their careers -- leading Belmont Abbey to a 5-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The Abbey improves to 2-2, 1-0 in league play with the win, while the Warriors fall 0-2, 0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fina Mochi registered her first goal at 25:22 of the first half to break a 1-1 tie.
- Anna Richard opened the scoring with her second in as many games.
- Sabrina Cuhna, Karis Peterson and Hanna Doerr added to the lead after intermission.
- Gianna Carniglia and Ryleigh Dougherty split time in goal for The Abbey, with each playing a half. Neither needed to make a save.
- Belmont Abbey outshot Southern Wesleyan 25-2 for the contest.
