The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team lost to the visiting North Georgia College and State University Saints 1-0 on a late goal this afternoon at Alumni Field. North Georgia improves to 4-0-1, while the Abbey is now 2-2.

The match was evenly played through the first 88 minutes until the Saints scored the only goal it would need at the 88:38 mark. Brittany Bauschka sent a cross to the center of the box, where Lauren Schenk played the ball off of one bounce and fired home the winner past Kelsey Lovell for the only goal of the match.

North Georgia outshot the Abbey 11-5 and held a 9-3 edge in corner kicks. Jessica English made three saves, while Lovell collected five.
