GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey baseball team continued to add more postseason accolades as four Crusaders were named to the All-Southeast Region team Wednesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Outfielders
Joe Whitaker and
Caleb Burr along with pitcher
Drew Stegura all earned first-team honors while
Spencer Cipro was named to the second team.
The four Crusaders have made their third regional team after being named to both the NCBWA and D2CCA All-Region teams earlier this month.
Stegura earned Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year honors, entering the NCAA Tournament with a perfect 9-0 record. Entering the week, Stegura held a sterling 2.69 ERA over 13 appearances with 73 punchouts. Stegura is the first Belmont Abbey pitcher to earn Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year since at least 2006.
Cipro finished the season with a 3.62 ERA and a 10-1 overall record. He finished with 82 innings pitched and recorded 48 strikeouts and had five complete games on the season, along with a shutout.
Whitaker finished the 2026 with a .413 average and started all 54 games for Belmont Abbey this season. He finished with 24 home runs and drove in 89 runs to set new career high totals and lead the team. He was a first-team All-Conference Carolinas selection earlier this month.
Burr led the team in batting average with a .426 mark on the season as he finished with 20 home runs and 69 runs batted in. He also finished 18 of 19 in stolen bases this season and 1.360 OPS. He was also a first-team All-Conference Selection.
