5/10/2026 10:35:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS — The Belmont Abbey baseball team has been selected as the No. 7 seed for the NCAA Southeast Regional as the Division II Baseball Selection Committee unveiled the full bracket Sunday night.

Belmont Abbey will begin its regional action against No. 2 seed Catawba at 2 p.m. at Newman Park in Salisbury with the other matchup featuring No. 3 seed Wingate and No. 6 seed Young Harris. That contest is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start from Salisbury.

Belmont Abbey finished 38-14 this season and was one of the last three teams standing in the Conference Carolinas Tournament. It is the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Crusaders have earned a spot in the Southeast regional. The Crusaders are looking to make a return appearance in the Division II College World Series for the first time since 2009. The Crusaders advanced to the Super Regionals back in 2023 and hosted a regional for the first time in program history last year.

No. 1 seed North Greenville, No. 4 seed North Georgia, No.5 seed Francis Marion and No. 8 seed Lander make up Southeast Regional No. 1 to be played in Tigerville, S.C. The winning teams of each regional will advance to the NCAA Division II Southeast Super Regional May 21-23 at the highest remaining seed. The winners of the eight super regionals advance to the finals of the 2026 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, which takes place May 29-June 6 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

More information about the regional, including ticket information, will be posted on Monday.
