INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Belmont Abbey baseball team has been selected as the No. 2 seed and host for the 2025 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional as the Division II Baseball Selection Committee unveiled the full bracket Sunday night. It is the first time in program history the Crusaders will host a regional from Abbey Yard.

Belmont Abbey will begin its regional action against No. 7 seed Carson-Newman on Thursday at 6 p.m., following a 3 p.m. matchup between No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne and No. 6 seed North Georgia.

Belmont Abbey finished 40-15 after capturing the Conference Carolinas Tournament title last week and earning the league's automatic bid. It is the first conference tournament title since 2009, the same year the team made an appearance in the Division II College World Series. The Crusaders advanced to the Super Regionals the last time they earned an NCAA Tournament bid back in 2023. The Abbey won in the regional hosted by Newberry that season.

The other three teams each received at-large bids after falling during their conference tournaments. Carson-Newman stands 37-17, while L-R sits at 43-12 after falling in the South Atlantic Conference Championship series yesterday. The Nighthawks of North Georgia are 39-15.

No. 1 seed Catawba, No. 4 Young Harris, No.5 North Greenville and No. 8 Lander make up Southeast Regional No. 1 to be played in Salisbury, N.C. The winning teams of each regional will advance to the NCAA Division II Southeast Super Regional May 22-24 at the highest remaining seed. The winners of the eight super regionals advance to the finals of the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, which takes place May 30-June 7 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

More information about the regional, including ticket information, will be posted on Monday.
