Four Baseball Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Four Belmont Abbey baseball student-athletes were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District baseball that was released by the organization Tuesday.
 
The four Crusader student-athletes recognized on the Division II team are: Caleb Burr, Connor Tucker, Garrett Browder and Jack Boyles. This is the second straight season that Burr and Tucker have earned spots on the team while Browder and Boyles are making their first appearances for the Abbey.
 
Burr is a finance major at Belmont Abbey and currently holds a 3.94 cumulative grade point average. He finished the 2024 season with the team lead in home runs (10) and drove in 35 runs as well. He finished a perfect 9 for 9 in stolen bases while playing in 50 games during the regular season.
 
Tucker is a business management major at the Abbey and currently holds a 3.51 GPA during his three years with the Crusaders. He finished the season with a team lead in batting average (.360), runs batted in (43) and doubles (15). Additionally, he earned All-Southeast Region accolades from D2CCA, NCBWA and the ABCA in May.
 
Browder finished his Belmont Abbey career with a 3.75 cumulative grade-point average while getting his Master of Business Administration at Belmont Abbey. He finished the 2024 season with a .316 batting average and led the team with a 1.043 OPS. He finished the season with nine home runs and 40 runs batted in and earned honorable mention All-American honors from the D2CCA in 2023.
 
Boyles makes his first appearance on the team after the sophomore finished the year with a 3.77 GPA as a biology major. He appeared in 44 games this season for the Crusaders and had 23 doubles and 10 stolen bases. Additionally, Boyles was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Defensive Team as well last season.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 2.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
