TEMPE, Ariz. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team earned recognition on the All-Academic Team with several Crusaders being named Scholar-Athletes as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the teams for the 2022-23 season Tuesday afternoon.
12 women's tennis players earned a spot as a scholar athlete while the team earned All-Academic honors for the second consecutive year. In 2023, 623 Division II Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 97 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To earn All-Academic Team honors, the team must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
