LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Belmont Abbey women's volleyball team has earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for 2021-22, the American Volleball Coaches Associaton announced today. The Crusaders were one of 148 Division II women's teams to receive the award.

"We are proud of our Crusaders and how hard they work in the classroom," Head Coach Toni Fox said. "They are a very impressive group of women and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to play a role in their development. An overall spring GPA of 3.51 with 23 Dean's List members and four President's List honorees is a huge accomplishment. We would like to thank the AVCA for the recognition and this award."

The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
