BELMONT, N.C. -- Chloe Lowder hit .316 with nine kills and a pair of Crusaders each had nine digs but it was not enough as Lees- McRae took a 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-18) victory in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Tuesday night. The contest was the regular-season finale for both teams.
With the result the Crusaders fall to 11-16 overall and 7-13 in league pay while the Bobcats improve to 13-7, 12-8. The Northwest foes finished with records of 2-6 and 3-5, respectively, in the division.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lowder had nine kills against three errora in 19 chances while adding four blocks (two solo).
- Mallory Swain and Maya Swenson led the defensive charge with nine digs each. Swain added one of the two Crusader service aces in the contest.
- Lola Sultenfuss tallied seven kills with Katie Brookins adding six.
- Emma Youngblood dished out a team high 25 assist.
UP NEXT
- Belmont Abbey enters the Conference Carolinas Tournament Saturday as the No. 11 seed.
- The Crusaders will face eighth-seeded Southern Wesleyan at 1 p.m. in Banner Elk, N.C.
- The winner of that match turns around and plays host Lees-McRae at 4 p.m. in the second round.
- The Abbey was swept by both the Warriors and Bobcats during the regular season.
