INDIANAPOLIS – Three Belmont Abbey men's soccer players,
Davis McBee,
Drew Daunt and
Kensly Owens have been named Academic All-District selections by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The full teams were announced earlier this week. The trio were part of 20 men's soccer players from Conference Carolinas to be recognized on the team.
Davis McBee is a senior from Gastonia, N.C. who led the team in shots and shots on goal this season. For his career, McBee appeared in 68 career matches with 50 starts. Additionally, he finished his career with 18 goals and seven assists and helped Belmont Abbey to a Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship following the 2020-21 season. McBee has a 3.64 grade-point average majoring in business management.
Drew Daunt a sophomore from Tallahassee, Fla. He started as a full-time player on the first team in 2022, making 10 starts and 13 apperances as a midfielder for The Abbey. He scored the game-winning goal in the championship match of the 2021 Conference Carolinas Developmental Championships. Daunt has a 4.0 grade-point average with an undeclared major.
Kensly Owens is a sophomore from Wexford, Pa. He has made 34 appearances for the Crusaders in his two-year career, including 16 starts. He's scored two goals and four assists during his time at Belmont Abbey. Owens has a 3.54 grade-point average with an undeclared major.
All three players are now eligible for selection to the CSC Academic All-America team, which will be announced in December 7. The full teams can be found here.
