The Abbey scores 13 to Beat North Greenville

BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team scored 13 runs on 14 hits to come away with the victory over North Greenville. The Abbey improves to 10-11 this season with a 7-3 Conference Carolinas record. North Greenville is now 16-4-1 and 6-1 in league play.

  • Belmont Abbey scored 13 unanswered runs starting with two in the first, six in the fourth, two in the seventh, and three in the eighth.
  • Adam Overcash was 3-for-five with two RBI and three runs scored.
  • Ben Sneider and Ben Gobbel both went yard for The Abbey.
  • Sean Johnson, Zach Aehlert, Matty Bapst, and Justin Moran all picked up two hits in the contest.
  • Belmont Abbey started Griffin Baker picked up his second win of the year tossing six innings allowing two runs on eight hits, two walks while striking out nine.
  • Dylan Smith tossed the ninth picking up a pair of strikeouts.
