Belmont Abbey junior Angela Jubb led all players with 13 kills,
but Queens recorded nine total blocks and ten service aces as the
Royals earned a 3-0 win over the Crusaders this afternoon at the
Wheeler Center. Set scores were 23-25, 21-25 and 18-25. Queens
moves to 14-7 overall and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas, while the
Crusaders drop to 12-11 overall and 7-5 in Conference
Carolinas.
Jubb led all players with 13 kills on 30 attacks with eight
errors. She added a service ace, nine digs and three block assists.
She was the only player to reach double figures in kills. Molly
Gwaltney handed out 22 assists in the first two sets before giving
way to Kay Schellenberg, who posted ten in the final set.
Defensively, Lydia Schellenberg's 13 digs were a match-high as
the Crusaders claimed a 55-48 win in that category. Stefanie Holler
posted four block assists.
Queens was led by Keri Kemp's seven kills, while Brittany Harvey
and Anna Gibbs both added six. Harvey led all players with five
block assists. Taylor Riley led all players with four service aces
and 11 assists, while Avery Moore handed out 14 assists to go along
with seven digs. Libero Jocelyn Kellinger led the Royals with 12
digs.
