Belmont Abbey senior forward Luis Arrieta found the top shelf in the 61st minute for the game's only goal to help the visiting Crusaders sneak past the Braves, 1-0, Friday evening in men's soccer action at Varsity Grounds.

The loss dropped UNCP's record in season openers to 11-5-0, while evening up the Black and Gold's mark in home openers to 8-8-0. Abbey extended their series lead against the Braves out to 13-3-1, including a 3-1-0 tally since 2000.

Following his own shot, and a scramble to a transition three minutes later, Arrieta found himself in open space on the far side and hit a shot to the top shelf that skimmed above the outstretched fingers of the Braves goalkeeper.

The Abbey is back in action Sunday when it goes on the road to face Francis Marion at 2:00 p.m.
