GREENWOOD, Ind. — A pair of Belmont Abbey women's tennis student-athletes were recognized earlier this week by College Sports Communicators (CSC) as members of the Academic All-District team.
Alexis Burkhalter and
Rebekka Collyer were the latest Crusaders to earn the distinction. Collyer is on the team for the first time while Burkhalter was named to the team for the second straight year.
Burkhalter is graduating from the Abbey this weekend with a degree in Sports Management. She was a first-team All-Conference Carolinas selection this season. She won 30 matches over the season in both singles and doubles play and is a regular in the lineup over all four years.
Collyer is a senior Human Services major at Belmont Abbey and was part of a Crusader team that finished as the Conference Carolinas Tournament runner-up. She finished with a 29-8 overall record in both singles and doubles play for the Abbey.
The full Academic All-American teams will be unveiled on Tuesday, June 2.
