BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's team wrapped up its home schedule with a pair of matches against Methodist and Young Harris Friday afternoon at the Reidy Center.
Both matches were close battles and the Crusaders came away with a split by defeating Methodist 5-2 before dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker to Young Harris.
Belmont Abbey and Young Harris entered the match as the top two teams in the KPI to determine Conference Carolinas Tournament seeding.

Leilany Sanchez won in both singles and doubles play against the Mountain Lions while
Alexis Burkhalter and
Mackenzie McCarthy won at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively for the Crusaders.
With Friday's results, Belmont Abbey is now 19-7 overall and 9-2 in Conference Carolinas play.
