GREENVILLE, S.C. — Belmont Abbey's Leilany Sanchez was named the Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Week by the league office.

Sanchez helped Belmont Abbey to a pair of 4-3 Conference Carolinas wins last week, defeating Francis Marion and Converse. The junior went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles and 2-0 at No. 5 singles.
In doubles, Sanchez topped lara Lanno and Alyssa Boschin of Francis Marion 6-2 and Ellie Luppino and Tamanna Panwar of Converse 6-4. In singles play, she defeated Boschin 6-4,-2 and Converse's Camille Lacombe 6-1, 6-4.

The Crusaders will have a busy day Wednesday with a match against King and Lander, all at the Reidy Tennis Center.
