WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Dasha Averkamp and Elizabeth Young earned fourth-place finishes in the 800m and 3000m runs, respectively, helping Belmont Abbey to a fifth-place team finish Monday at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship, hosted at the JDL Fast Track. The fifth-place finish was the best in school history.

The Crusaders scored 32.5 points, just 1.5 ahead of sixth-place Francis Marion. Mount Olive took the title with 230.5 points.

The spring season begins next month.
