MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Freshman Brielle George set conference, meet and school records in the high jump, while
Caydence Lindsey broke the school record in the heptathlon, highlighting Belmont Abbey's participation at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Friday.
Brielle shattered
Haley Kells' mark of 1.60m by 5 1/2 inches (1.74,/5'-8.50"). She made seven straight jumps including the final two in a head-to-head showdown with Kamille Cunningham of Converse. Both finalists missed their first two tries at the winning mark before George cleared and Cunningham missed.
The mark ranks tied for fifth nationally and will earn George a spot in the national championship on Saturday, May 23..
Lindsey finished sixth in the heptathlon, surpassing
Mia Williams' record by 14 points.
As a team, Belmont Abbey stands fourth among the 16 teams wtih 27.33 points.
