Box Score HARRAGUT, Tenn. -- Belmont Abbey rallied from two sets down to force a fifth, but 19th-ranked Lincoln Memorial eked out a 3-2 (28-26, 25-20, 20-25, 19-25, 16-14) victory in collegiate men's volleyball action Friday night.
The Railsplitters scored the final two points of the match when the fifth set was tied at 14-14.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 4-1 on the season, while LMU improves to 6-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caden Day led the attack with 16 kills and a .286 hitting percentage (16k-6e-35a). He added six digs, a service ace and a block assist.
- Zach Puentes and Jibriel Elhaddad also reached double figures in kills with 11 and 10, respectively. Elhaddad hit .412, just behind team leader TJ Neville (.417).
- Joseph Morris tallied a double-double with 39 assists and 10 digs. He also registered five aces, tied for Belmont Abbey's most-ever in a five-set match.
- Belmont Abbey had three set points in the opening frame, but LMU saved each of them before tallying the final three points.
