GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey
Jibriel Elhaddad has been named the Men's Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Men's Volleyball, the Conference Carolinas office announced today.
A senior from Jupiter, Fla. Elhaddad earned first-team all-conference and honorable mention All-America honors this season. He led the conference and was fourth nationally in hitting percentage (.417), registering 190 kills. He was credited with 95 blocks from his middle position, ranking fourth in the league and 27th in the nation with 0.979 blocks per set. He also added 18 assists, three aces, 57 digs and 246.0 points to his stat line.
Elhaddad graduated with May with bachelor of arts degree in economics. He was a two-time selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large team and the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference list.
The award was selected by the league Awards Committee.
