GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey has been picked second in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, the league office announced today. The Crusaders and preseason favorite North Greenville were separated by a single point in voting among the nine head coaches.
The Trailblazers totaled 59 points to The Abbey's 58 with each team earning four first-place votes. Mount Olive came in third with 51 points while Barton received the final first-place vote and is picked fourth with 38 points.
Young Harris and Lees-McRae tied for fifth with 33 points followed by Emmanuel with 26 points. The poll finished with Chowan in eighth with 17 points and Shorter in ninth with nine points.
Additionally, three Crusaders were listed on the league's Players to Watch list, including returning 2025 all-conference selections
Nate Lorenzo (first team) and

Matt Campfield was also mentioned.
The 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Championship starts with quarterfinal games on campus sites on Tuesday, April 21. The semifinals and finals will take place in Young Harris, Ga. on Friday, April 24 and Sunday, April 26.
