INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Belmont Abbey's
Isabelle Flores earned a third straight trip to the NCAA Division II Women's Track and Field Championship later this month, receiving an official invitation from the NCAA selection committee Tuesday afternoon.
Flores, a senior from Orange Park, Fla., will compete in the 400-meter Hurdles preliminaries on Thursday, May 22 at 9:25 p.m. Eastern time. The finals for the top eight racers takes place Saturday night, May 24 at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colo.
Flores is a two-time All-American after finishing 11th in each of her previous two trips. She posted a season-best time of 59.75 at the Lenoir-Rhyne Last Chance Meet on May 10 in Hickory N.C. She is the first female from the Abbey to earn All-America honors in track and field. She also earned two podium spots at the Conference Carolinas Track and Field Championships in April in Myrtle Beach, S.C., winning the 400m hurdles and finishing second in the 100m hurdles.
