HICKORY, N.C. -- Elizabeth Young and Miranda Anderson set school records and six others also met Conference Carolinas Championship-qualifying standards, leading Belmont Abbey's opening day at the Southside Power and Fitness Invitational, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.

Young ran 11:52.48 in the 3000m Steeplechase, while Anderson threw the javelin 37.22 meters (122'-1.00").

The meet continues tomorrow and Sunday.
