FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Belmont Abbey acrobatics & tumbling team picked up its second straight win thanks to a 231.835-216.060 victory over Emmanuel Saturday afternoon at the Shaw Athletic Center.
The win officially clinched a berth in the Conference Carolinas Tournament with one meet remaining in the regular season.
With Saturday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 6-2 overall and 5-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Emmanuel is now 0-7 both overall and in league competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Event 1 — Compulsory
The Crusaders got off to an early 34.1-32.95 lead over the Lions thanks to scores of 9.3 and 9.6 in Pyramid and Toss, respectively. Belmont Abbey also scored an 8.8 in the Acro Heat to get the meet started.
Event 2 — Acro
Belmont Abbey pushed the lead further thanks to a 25.05-24.10 advantage in the event. The Crusaders used a strong score of 9.35/10 in Heat 3 (7 Element). Competing in the heat was

Mackenzie Linegar,
Mauriella Beauchamp and
Katilyn Blakeney.
Additionally, the Crusaders scored an 8.4/9.7 in Heat 1 (5 Element).
Molly Froman,
Sarah Brady,
Gabrielle Cox,
Deanna Woolard and
Valentina Ordonez competed in the heat.
Event 3 — Pyramid
Both Belmont Abbey and Emmanuel finished with a total of 25.55 points in the event. The strongest heat for the Crusaders came in the Open Pyramid, scoring a 9.7/10. Additionally, the Synchronized Pyramid scored a 9.0/9.5.

Belmont Abbey held an 84.7-82.6 halftime lead.
Event 4 — Toss
The Crusaders pushed the lead farther thanks to a 25.8-23.7 advantage. Belmont Abbey's best score came in the 450 Salto Toss (Heat 1) with a solid 9.0 from a 9.3 start value.
Competing in Heat 1 was Quinlan, Linegar, Brophy, Brady, Cox and
Audra Kaiser.
Belmont Abbey rounded out the event with scores of 8.2/9.3 in Synchronized Toss and 8.6/9.6 in Open Toss.
Event 5 — Tumbling
Belmont Abbey scored a 48.325/from a possible 54 points.
In the team passes, the Crusaders scored a 7.65/9.55 in Duo from
Trinity Martinez and
Tia Fluellen while Quinlan, Woolard, and
Meagan Henry scored a 7.6/8.75 in Trio. The team of Kaiser, Cox, Brady and Lanier scored a 6.85/8 in Quad Pass.
The Abbey had good scores in the Individual passes as well. Quinlan scored an 8.275/8.6 in the Aerial Pass, Woolard had a 9.1/9.55 in 6 Element Pass while Fluellen had an 8.85/9.55 in Open Pass.
Event 6 — Team Event
The Crusaders closed out the meet with a 73.01/97.61 in the team event compared to 66.36/94.46 from Emmanuel.
