CHARLOTTE and BOONE, N.C. -- Haley Kells broke her own school record in the Heptathlon and seven Conference Carolinas Championship-qualifying standards were met as the Belmont Abbey women's track & field team split between meets at UNC Charlotte and Appalachian State.

Kells earned 3638 points in the two-day, seven-event competition, better than the 3532 she scored at the 49er Classic last year.

Belmont Abbey returns to action next Saturday at the Davidson Relays.
