MONROE, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's golf team began play Monday at the Jerry Surratt Intercollegiate Monday at Stonebridge Golf Club.

The Crusaders sent two teams to the tournament as Belmont Abbey opened play with rounds of 336 (A) and 375 (B). The tournament field was scheduled to play 36 holes but was play suspended Monday afternoon due to rain.

Ella Wiklander led the way for the Crusaders with an opening round of 79 while Albany Bock led the B team with a round of 82.

Lee and Anderson are tied for the team lead with rounds of 300 and host Wingate just one shot back at 301.
