ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — The Belmont Abbey women's golf team got its third tournament of the season started a day earlier than previously scheduled at the St. Simons Intercollegiate Sunday at the King and Prince Golf Club. The first round was moved up due to inclement weather forecasted for Monday.
The Crusaders were led by
Katie Cullen, who finished with a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 18th. She got off to a good start with back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th holes, which were here first two holes of the day.
Ella Wiklander and
Lilianna Carcel both shot 80 while
Bethany Welch and
Kellyn Arnold had rounds of 86 and 89, respectively.
As a team, the Abbey opened with a team score of 321 and is tied for 13th with Lenoir-Rhyne. Wingate leads the team standings with 290 while Flagler's Sofia Terzoli leads the individual standings with a 3-under par 69.
