2024 Belmont Abbey Women's Soccer Schedule
BELMONT, N.C. — A matchup against NCAA Tournament participant Wingate plus a new-look Conference Carolinas 12-match slate highlight the 2024 Belmont Abbey women's soccer schedule, head coach
Mike Lynch announced today.
The regular season begins on Sept. 7 with a match at Lander and opens Conference Carolinas play at Emmanuel Sept. 14. The Abbey plays its first home match on Sept. 11 against Emory & Henry.
"We are excited for our schedule as we get to play quality opponents from around the region," Lynch said. "In addition, we compete for only our second season in our new conference format which includes our first-ever match against Shorter University."
The Crusaders will host the Hawks on Oct. 5 at Alumni Field.
With the addition of Shorter to Conference Carolinas, all three divisions will now have five programs each. North Greenville is added to the Northwest Division along with Converse, King, Lees-McRae and Belmont Abbey. Divisional opponents will play each other twice in the regular season.
Belmont Abbey's first home Conference Carolinas match is against Converse at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 21.
The Crusaders return an experienced group that won the Northwest Division title in 2023 and led Division II in scoring a year ago. The Conference Carolinas Tournament is slated to begin Nov. 7 on campus sites with the semifinals and final set for Nov. 15 and 17 at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C.
"We have a talented group returning as well, both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball," Lynch said. "Our goals remain to graduate leaders of character, compete for championships and pursue sportsmanship and ethics in all we do. We can't wait to have everyone on campus and start a new season."
