EMPORIA, Kan. -- Isabelle Flores ran just the second sub-minute 400-meter Hurdles race in school history Thursday night at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship, earning All-America honors for the second straight year. Her time of 59.98 placed her 11th overall and was nearly a second faster than her time at last year's meet.

Racing in the first of three heats, Flores crossed the line fifth overall, then had to wait to see if she finished in the top eight to advance to Saturday's final. She fell short by just .41 seconds, but will be named second-team All-America when confirmed by US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association next week.

A year ago, the Orange Park, Fla. native posted a time of 1:00.95 to also stand 11th. Flores qualified for this year's championship with a school-record time of 59.25. Her two appearances at the NCAA Championship are the first by a Belmont Abbey women's track athlete.
