Davis McCulley scored six goals and Belmont Abbey bolted out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter, leading to a 15-5 win over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
With their fifth straight win, the Crusaders improve to 6-5 overall and 3-0 in league play. The Lions fall to 0-11, 0-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders took just 42 seconds to opened the scoring after Jeremy Mahoney converted a pass from Riley Arsenault.
- Mikey Sweigart, Quinn Smith, Garren Berman (from Mahoney) and Xavier Miller each tallied goals in the first period for the five-goal advantage.
- Emmanuel closed to within 6-2 by McCulley finished the second and started the third with a strike for an 8-2 lead.
- The Abbey sealed the contest in the as two more goals by McCulley at 12:53 and 9:31 stretched the lead to 10-4.
- The fourth closed 5-1 for Belmont Abbey as the final margin reached double figures.
- BAC held a 64-17 advantage in shots (40-13 on goal) and 41-15 lead in ground balls.
- Caleb Mulcahy won 20 of 22 faceoffs, while Angus Snow made eight saves to improve to 6-5 in goal.
