Six Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Six Belmont Abbey women's soccer student-athletes were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Tuesday afternoon.

Mia Muckenthaler, Reagan Cullen, Gabriela Enciso, McKenna Schwarz, Anna Richard and Haley Long were all selected as members of the team. Muckenthaler is on the team for the third time and is back on the team after being the first of two Crusasders to earn CSC Academic All-America honors last season. Cullen, Enciso and Schwarz are making their second appearances while Richard and Long are on the team for the first time.

Muckenthaler, a senior defender from Mooresville, North Carolina, continued her strong play leading the defensive back line for the Abbey. She started and appeared in all 20 matches for the Crusaders, tallying one goal and two assists. She was a first-team All-Conference Carolinas selection and was also named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team this past weekend. The Crusaders allowed just 12 goals all season and logged 10 shutouts. She is a business management major at Belmont Abbey and currently holds a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average.

Cullen, a senior midfielder from Concord, North Carolina, put together another quality year in the midfield for the Crusaders. She started and appeared in all 20 matches and finished with four goals and six assists. She was a second-team All-Conference Carolinas selection this season and earned Academic All-District honors in 2022. She is a marketing major at Belmont Abbey with a 3.86 GPA.

Enciso, a graduate student forward from Carlsbad, California, is making her second straight appearance on the team. She finished the 2024 season with 7 goals and 10 assists, putting her in the Top 10 nationally in that category. She scored a pair of goals over the span of the Conference Carolinas Tournament and was a second-team All-Conference Carolinas selection this year. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in healthcare administration and has a 3.83 cumulative GPA.

Schwarz, a junior midfielder from Lakewood Ranch, Florida, earned Academic All-District honors for the second straight year. She made appearances in all 20 matches with 18 starts this season. She scored her first collegiate goal this season in a contest against North Greenville on September 24 and had an assist in the match at King on October 30. She has a 3.9 GPA and is majoring in business management at the Abbey.

Richard, a junior forward from Carthage, North Carolina, is on the team for the first time in her Crusader career. She put together a strong season for the Abbey, leading the team with 10 goals and adding three assists. She was a second-team All-Conference Carolinas selection this year and was also an all-conference selection in 2022. She is a nursing major at Belmont Abbey with a 3.82 grade-point average.

Long, a sophomore forward from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, earns her spot on the team in her first year of eligibility. She was one of the catalysts for the Crusader offense this season, scoring six goals while adding a national-best 14 assists on the year. She earned second-team All-Conference Carolinas honors this season and had a run of six assists in five matches this season. She is a nursing major with a 3.73 GPA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. The full Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 11, 2024.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
