INMAN, S.C. — Paeton Phillippi led the way for the Belmont Abbey women's golf team as the Crusaders opened play at the Converse Fall Invite Monday at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club.
Phillippi put together a pair of rounds in the 70s to put herself in a tie for 10th overall with Valeria Lopez of Emmanuel. She shot a 78 in Round 1 before closing with a 1-over par 73 to finish with a two-round total of 151.
The Abbey has two teams competing at the tournament with the A team sitting in fourth with a two-round total of 617, just one shot behind Christian Brothers University.
Ella Wiklander also had a pair of rounds in the 70s (77-79) while
Katie Cullen shot a 75 in the second round.
For the B team, the Crusaders were led by
Bethany Welch as she finished with a two-round total of 161.
Emmanuel leads the tournament with a two-round total of 599.
