GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's golf team opened its 2023-2024 season Monday at the Meredith Insurance Fall Kickoff at The Links at Stoney Point. The teams played 36 holes and the Crusaders stood in 15th place with a two-round total of 653 (327-326).
 
Paeton Phillippi and Ashlan Tresca led the way for The Abbey with identical scores of 158. Phillippi had the low round of the day for the team with a 78 in the second round while Ashlan Tresca shot consecutive rounds of 79 and are tied for 47th.
 
Ella Wiklander (85-81) finished with a total of 166 in her collegiate debut while Bridget Forgatch (83-88—171) and Chrissy Popovich (89-94—183) rounded out the team of five competing for the Crusaders.
 
Host Anderson (289-282—581) leads the tournament followed by Wingate (294-298—592) and Lee University (299-298—597).
