PUEBLO, Colo. -- Belmont Abbey sophomore
Isabelle Flores' historic season in the 400 meter hurdles culminated with an 11th-place finish among a 21-runner field Thursday night at the NCAA Division II Women's Track and Field Championship, hosted by Colorado State-Pueblo. The final standing earned her second-team All-America status.
Flores, competing in the Lane 4 of the second heat, posted a time of 1:00.95 to finish fourth in her heat.
A native of Orange Park, Fla., Flores broke The Abbey school record three times during the outdoor season, posting a best of 1:00.13 just 11 days ago. With the top two in each heat and the next two times advancing to Saturday's final, she needed 1:00.11 to advance.
