BRISTOL, TENN. – The Belmont Abbey acrobatics and tumbling team entered the Conference Carolinas championship facing off against No. 1 seed Limestone Saturday at King University.
It was the second time that the two teams had competed against each other and it was the Saints who came away with a 258.635-233.905 semifinal victory over the Crusaders.
Some of the best scores of the day came in the Compulsory event for The Abbey as the team scored a 9.0 or higher in the Acro (9.0/10), Pyramid (9.65/10) and Toss (9.13/10) heats, respectively.
The Crusaders' best score in the Acro event came in Heat 2 (8.85/10) and followed that up in the Pyramid event with a 9.4/10 in Inversion Pyramid and a 9.1/10 in the Open Pyramid.
In the tumbling event, the highlight for the Crusaders came in the Aerial Pass, scoring a 9.5/10.
