BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team extended its Conference Carolinas winning streak to four matches and fifth overall as the Crusaders defeated Francis Marion 5-2 Friday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
Paola Socarras won a pair of matches in No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point and No. 5 singles as part of the four wins in singles play for the afternoon.
Frankee Hendricks secured the clinching point for The Abbey with her 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles play over Gabriel Karatancheva.
The Crusaders are 10-13 overall, 4-2 in Conference Carolinas. The Patriots are now 10-4 overall, 5-1 in the league.
