MONROE, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's golf team returned to the course for the first time in two weeks to compete at the Dr. Jerry Surratt Memorial Invitational Monday at Stonebridge Golf Club.
The Crusaders opened the tournament with 36 holes played and finished with a two-round total of 649 (322-327) and currently sit in seventh place following the first day of play.
Kaylee Ong and
Lauren Denhard led the way for the Crusaders with one round each in the 70s between them.
Ong finished with a two-round total of 159 (82-77) and is tied for 22nd. Denhard (78-85—163) and Paeton Phillippi (80-83—163) are both tied for 30th overall.
Morgan Comer (82-82—164) and
Oxana Braun (85-85—170) rounded out the day for The Abbey.
