MARS HILL, N.C. –The Belmont Abbey acrobatics and tumbling team won its second straight meet thanks to a 239.715-189.170 victory against Mars Hill Thursday. The Crusaders moved to 2-1 on the season while the Lions are 0-2.
Belmont Abbey's best score in the Compulsory event came in the Toss Heat, where the team scored a 9.35 from a 10-point start value. The team competing in that heat consisted of

Anna Davis,
Kristin Fary,
Julia Conger,
Blythe Terrell,
Bri Camp,
Deanna Woolard,
Tatianna Hogan and Madeline McCauley.
The Crusaders took the lead following the
Acro event with scores of 8.1, 8.4 and 8.3, in the respective heats. The team of
Lauren Pipes,
Anna Davis,
Blythe Terrell and
Mauriella Beauchamp competed in the 6 Element Pass, which was Heat 2.
The Abbey had some of its strongest performances in the Pyramid Event where it scored a 9.2/10 in Heat 1 and followed that with a 9.1/10 in Heat 3.
In the Toss event, the Crusaders held a 24.10-20.60 advantage and a 49.525-42.5 lead in the Tumbling event. The best score from the event came from
Molly Hanley, who scored an 8.9 from a 9.55 start value in the 6 Element Pass.
Aspen Terrell scored an 8.825 in the Open Pass.
The Crusaders closed the meet with an 87.04 in the team event from a 100.74 start value.
