Matteo Miselli tallied a career-high 17 kills and
Brennan Davis added a double-double, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-2 (28-26, 25-20, 22-25, 14-25, 16-14) victory over North Greenville in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Wednesday night. The match was the league opener for both teams.
Belmont Abbey improved to 4-0 overall, the second time in program history it has started with at least four straight wins. North Greenville falls to 2-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miselli hit .189 overall, while adding an ace and four digs.
- Justin Kean reached a career high for kills with eight, hitting at a .308 clip.
- Brennan Davis tallied a finished the contest with 37 assists and 12 digs. He also had a kill and two service aces.
- Belmont Abbey hit .571 in the opening set, then .231in the second to lead 2-0.
- North Greenville turned the tables in the nest two sets to force a fifth.
- In the decider, NGU led 10-8, but the visitors tallied back-to-back points to tie the score. The teams were tied at 11, 12, 13 and 14 before a service error and attack error by North Greenville provided the victory.
- "This was an incredible team win," Head Coach Nolan Albrecht said following the match.
