VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Sophomore Cristina Villanueva leaped a school-record distance of 5.48 meters (17' 11¾") in the long jump Monday to finish third at the Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship. She topped the previous best of 4.93m by almost two feet and earned third-team all-conference honors in the process.

Freshman Katrina Morse also established a new record in the weight throw. Her mark of 10.67 meters was the first recorded by a Belmont Abbey Crusader.

As a team, Belmont Abbey finished 10th with15 points.
