Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Austin Hasen scored six goals as Belmont Abbey defeated Catawba 18-6. The win improves the Crusader record to 2-0 on the year. It was Catawba's season opener.

- Dylan Harmon won the opening faceoff, dashed downfield, and put The Abbey in front 13 seconds into the game
- Austin Hasen scored next for the Crusaders, who led 4-1 when the first quarter expired
- The early part of the second was a defensive battle, but five minutes into the period the Crusaders broke out, with three goals in a span of 49 seconds. Hasen scored two of those goals
- Bryan DePass capped off the scoring for The Abbey in half, at BAC held a 10-4 lead at halftime
- It only took Hasen a minute and a half into the third to find the back of the net and expand The Abbey's lead
- Later in the period, Hunter Duford and Ben Utrosa tallied scores just seven seconds apart from each other, building a 13-4 Abbey lead
- The Abbey scored three man-up goal in the last 6 minutes of the period, and held a 17-5 lead heading into the final period
- Luke Spanier set up Tyler Dalle for the lone Crusader goal of the fourth, which was primarily a defensive battle. The Indians only managed one goal on the Crusaders, who wrapped up the 18-6 victory
- On the day, Hasen was the Crusader leader, with six goals and an assist
- Brady Smith went 16-for-21 on faceoffs, and picked up a game-high seven ground balls
- On the defensive end, Brad Mackie caused three Catawba turnovers
- Bryce Gifford improved to 2-0, while making 10 saves
