BELMONT, N.C. - Austin Hasen scored four goals and dished out an assist as the #6-ranked Abbey men's lacrosse team defeated #16-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne 12-7 this afternoon.  The win gives The Abbey a 4-0 record, while the Bears dip to 2-1.

How it Happened

  • Sean Hanrahan set up Hasen for the first goal of the game, then he scored a man-up goal just 23 seconds later
  • Later in the quarter, Hanrahan set up Hasen for another score.  Then Noah Haas scored as the quarter expired to give the Crusaders a 5-1 lead

  • Jack Piggott and Hunter Duford scored goals just 1:50 apart, and Belmont Abbey held an 8-6 lead heading into the final period

  • After that, it was Hasen capitalizing on a man-up opportunity.  Hasen scored again in the closing minutes, and Belmont Abbey wrapped up the 12-7 victory
  • On the day, Hasen was the Crusaders' leader with four goals and an assist
  • Haas scored three times.  Brady Smith won six of his nine faceoffs, and picked up a game-high six gtround balls
