BELMONT, N.C. - Isabella Benavente scored three goals as the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team earned a 4-3 victory over Spartanburg Methodist this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SMC scored first, in the 15th minute, but Mackenzie Lewis evened the score just three minutes later
• In the second half, Benavente scored three goals in a row, the first two coming in a 10-minute span
• Spartanburg Methodist tried to come back, with two late goals, but it was not enough as the Crusaders held on 4-3
• Goalkeepers Cieara Berg and Olivia Egbor saw their first game action of the Fall
