BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team opened the Fall season by hosting the ITA Regionals today.  Schools from Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference played in an open-style singles and doubles format.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Madelyn Schott earned a 6-4, 6-3 singles victory, and paired up with Sylvia Goldsmith for a 6-4 doubles win
• Goldsmith also had an impressive 6-2, 6-3 singles win over a Converse opponent
• Elliott Peterson earned a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory, also over an opponent from Converse
• Peterson and Schott earned a 6-1 doubles victory over the no. 3 seed
• Belmont Abbey also got two default wins in doubles play
