GAFFNEY, S.C. - Jack Pigott scored three goals, but the #7-ranked Belmont Abbey Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 15-10 contest at #2-ranked Limestone this evening.  The Abbey dipped to 11-2 on the year, including 4-1 in Conference Carolinas play.  The Saints improved to 13-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

How it Happened

• Both team came out shooting right from the start.  Jack Pigott was the first Crusader to score, off a pass from Liam Osborne
• James Booth notch the game at four with a goal at the 1:19 mark, and Pigott set up Noah Haas for a score just 30 seconds later, giving BAC a l5-4 lead at the end of the first period
• Haas was first Crusader to score in the second.  From there, The Abbey defense did not give up a Limestone goal in the last 14 minutes of the half.  Both teams continued to keep the offensive pressure on, getting plenty of shots, and Belmont Abbey held a 6-5 halftime lead.  The Crusaders outshot the Saints 21-19 in the half
• Late in the third, The Abbey offense exploded as Pigott scored a goal, Zach Stephenson won the ensuing faceoff, and Osborne found the back of the net just 10 seconds after Pigott's goal
• With 2:23 remaining in the period, Austin Hasen found the back of the net to give BAC momentum and a 9-8 lead heading into the final period
• The Saints scored three goals early in the fourth.  Pigott tallied his third score of the day at the 8:44 mark to pull the Crusaders back to within a goal at 11-10.  Limestone proceeded to win the contest 15-10
• On the night, Pigott was the Crusaders' leader offensively with three goals.  Haas and Osborne each finished with two goals and one assist
• Bryce Gifford made 16 saves in goal
